The weather in Jastarnia was fantastic for our families this year \u2013 temperatures ranged from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius. Sunshine, a light breeze, a warm sea \u2013 what more could you want on the beach! \ud83d\ude0a And there were \u2013 yes \u2013 beach-frying enthusiasts among us! \ud83d\ude09. Some of us were often late for dinner, unable to leave the beach for two hours. Incidentally, meals were like being at home at Mom's, so after dinner we usually had to take a nap or at least a lie-in (LB) to recover from the hearty and delicious food. It didn't matter that the accommodations were very modest. As someone once said, "you get comfort in your own home, but here in Jastarnia, it's the atmosphere that counts.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Besides the delights of the sea, participants could enjoy the prepared attractions \u2013 a boat trip to Hel, at the very tip of the Hel Peninsula, and a sailboat trip to the middle of the bay, where they could swim in the shallows "in the middle of the sea" and pick shells from the sandy bottom. There was also a trip along the bay shore through the fern forest for coffee at the pier in Jurata \u2013 a beautiful day, free from throngs of holiday tourists. A large grass snake, quietly basking in the sun among the rocks, also appreciated the sight. Some saw such a large snake in the wild for the first time! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As usual, we also had a team-building pizza party, where we had the opportunity to check if everyone (and there were almost 50 of us) knew the others' names. There was plenty of laughter and fun. And of course, we couldn't leave Jastarnia without visiting the rope park, where both young and old put their climbing skills to the test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We're thrilled that, in addition to our Foundation Families, this year's trip included a group of children from the Zhytomyr Children's Home in Ukraine \u2013 a country that has been struggling with the war with Russia and the devastating trauma of war for over two years. For these Ukrainian children, it truly was the vacation of a lifetime. We hope to see them again someday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
