It's something you experience—through relationships, shared activities, and mutual understanding. That's why we prioritize not only projects that support local communities in Poland, but also the activities we conduct abroad—in Ukraine, Lithuania, and African countries.

We draw from this diversity every day, also thanks to the employees from all over the world who work in the Capital Group operating at the Foundation. It is with them in mind that we have been organizing the International Super Festival of Cultures for a decade now – a celebration of openness, integration, and mutual curiosity. And now, on the occasion of Easter, we want to explore how diverse a single holiday can be.

Poland – holidays written with heart

Easter in Poland is a time full of symbols, emotion, and family warmth. From colorful palms, to the Easter baskets, to the shared breakfast – each of these events carries a story. There's something magical about it – moments remembered from childhood: the smell of freshly baked mazurek (Polish mazurek), conversations at the table, the laughter of children dousing each other with water on Wet Monday. It's not just a ritual – it's an intergenerational bond that unites people.

Ukraine – a festival of faith and light

In Ukraine, Easter is a time full of spirituality and beautiful, deeply rooted traditions. The faithful bring baskets of Easter food to church, filled with homemade bread, eggs, and Pascha. Services are often held at night, by candlelight and accompanied by hymns. It's a silence and hope that unites generations—not only at the table, but above all in prayer.

Lithuania – deep symbolism and family closeness

Lithuanians attach great importance to traditions, including Easter. Margučiai – hand-painted eggs – become small works of art here. The blessing of food, processions, and communal breakfasts have a solemn yet warm character. This is a celebration of peace and spiritual joy, where every gesture is meaningful.

Kazakhstan – modesty and spiritual strength

In Kazakhstan, where Christian communities are sparse, Easter has an intimate, quiet dimension. Instead of palms, there are willow branches; instead of crowds, there are small groups of believers. This is a holiday lived in the heart, often far from family homes, but with a great longing for closeness. Where traditional settings are lacking, faith becomes even more personal and moving.

Moldova – incense, candle and holy bread

In Moldova, the atmosphere of Easter is permeated with spirituality. Candles burn in front of churches, and baskets brought for blessing are filled with local delicacies—homemade bread, eggs, and meat. There's no wet Monday here—there's quiet joy, reflection, and the warmth of family gatherings.

Colombia – faith in the streets and in hearts

Holy Week in Colombia is a true mystery – full of emotion and passion. Solemn processions fill the streets – the faithful carry statues, burn incense, and sing. It's a faith that emerges from the churches and transforms everyday life into the sacred. Community, holiness, and Colombian openness – all this creates a unique atmosphere for experiencing Easter.

Africa – spirituality and the joy of community

In many African countries, such as Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana, where Christianity is present, Easter is celebrated with tremendous energy and deep spirituality. Services (often outdoors) are filled with music, dancing, and singing. Rhythmic drums, songs, and joyful shouts can be heard. It is a time of vibrant faith, impossible to miss. Spicy fish, rice, and sweet pastries reign supreme on the tables, and gratitude and festive joy hang in the air. It is a celebration of hope and rebirth, experienced together, with hearts open to others.

Why is all this important to us?

Because each of these stories is a human story—different, yet equally valuable. At the Uskrzydlamy Foundation, we recognize the diverse experiences of our colleagues and those we support. That's why we want not only to help, but also to understand and celebrate together what unites and distinguishes us.

Diversity isn't a slogan—it's the everyday reality of the people we surround ourselves with. Thanks to this, we can act more effectively, more wisely, and with even greater heart.

____________________________________________________________________________

Easter wishes from the Foundation

W Fundacji Rozwoju Społecznego Uskrzydlamy od lat wierzymy, że różnorodność to nie coś, czego trzeba się uczyć z książek.
