Following the March announcement that the reconstruction of Tomek's home had begun, today we can share another very important update: the house is now roofed. This is a huge step forward in his family's return to normal life.
As a reminder, in October 2024, a fire destroyed the home of Tomek, an employee of LipCo Foods in Karczew. At the time of the incident, four people were inside, including his mother and sister – both disabled. Thanks to the quick response of emergency services, everyone managed to evacuate safely, but the home itself was severely damaged.
Real effects of joint support
Thanks to the enormous commitment of LipCo Foods employees and the support of the Henryk Lipka Uskrzydlamy Foundation, a total of approximately 60,000 złoty was raised. These funds, along with additional funds raised by the family (approximately 40,000 złoty), allowed the most urgent work to begin and be completed.
In recent months, the following work has been carried out: construction of the roof structure, reconstruction of the roof and securing of the building, as well as cleaning and preparation of the walls.
Today, not only is the house covered, but the area around it has also been tidied up – a sidewalk has been built to make it easier for Tomek's mother to move around.
„"We don't know where we would be today"”
Tomek's family is very grateful for the help. Grażyna, Tomek's sister, said:
„"We are incredibly grateful for your support, because without it, we probably would have had to tear the house down… It was a wonderful surprise for us that we could count on people so much. I don't know where we would be today without you, the donors. Thank you so much.".

It's not over yet
Although the roof is complete, the family still has much work ahead of them. These include electrical and plumbing installations, flooring, ceilings, interior finishes, building insulation, and repairing some windows.
These are the next stages that will determine when Tomek and his loved ones will be able to return to their home.
