Three maternity wards in Children's Clinical Hospital of the Medical University of Warsaw have changed beyond recognition. Their interiors, previously ordinary and neutral, now throb with color and positive energy. All thanks to a joint project by the Uszindlamy Social Development Foundation, Ronald McDonald Foundation and the hospital itself, which gained a unique setting thanks to the artist Sława Tchórzewska.
Where color meets care
Three different rooms were created, each with its own unique atmosphere and color palette. The Yellow, Orange, and Green Rooms are now places where mothers can experience their first moments with their baby in an environment of peace, color, and positive energy.
The walls are decorated with energetic, original paintings—full of color, soft shapes, and compositions that subtly foster a sense of security. This isn't just an aesthetic change, but also emotional support—especially important during such a crucial moment as childbirth.
Common action, common goal
The idea for the change came from the hospital, which was looking for a way to insulate the interior of the maternity ward. The Uskrzydlamy Foundation suggested the artist for collaboration and covered the project costs. The Ronald McDonald House Foundation, in turn, provided significant organizational support and ensured the artist's comfort. The entire project was carried out in collaboration with hospital staff.
Sława Tchórzewska carried out a tremendous amount of work – with heart, precision, and attention to every detail. Her style, sense of space, and sensitivity gave these interiors a unique character.
It was a partnership – full of shared concern for an effect that would serve mothers for a long time.

A change that will last for years
Although the painting itself took only a few days, the entire project took approximately six months. This was due to the need to accommodate the hospital's daily operations and complete necessary formalities. Everything was carried out with respect for the patients and the medical team.
Today, the effect speaks for itself – the transformed delivery rooms delight with their colors, originality and atmosphere, which until now was missing in these spaces.
A place where mothers from all over Poland come
The Children's Clinical Hospital of the Medical University of Warsaw (UCK MUW) is one of the most important maternity centers in Poland. In 2021, the hospital was named the best hospital in the country in the "World's Best Hospitals" ranking, confirming the high quality of care and the trust it enjoys among patients. The Department of Obstetrics, Perinatology, and Gynecology is a place where women can count on comprehensive care at every stage of pregnancy and childbirth.
Now, thanks to joint efforts, the birthing space not only meets the highest medical standards, but also aesthetic and emotional ones.

The joy of creation, gratitude for the effect
The grand opening of the transformed rooms was a moment filled with emotion. For the Uskrzydlamy Foundation team, it was further proof that sensitivity and aesthetics can truly impact human experience. From the hospital's perspective, it provided practical support and a symbolic demonstration that the mental well-being of mothers matters. For the artist, it was the opportunity to create something special in a place where a new story begins every day.
It was a shared journey. And a shared success.
