This year's International SuperFestival attracted over 500 participants. Karczew, near Otwock, hosted sporting competitions between four nationalities and a shared feast for employees and their families associated with SuperDrob.
The MOSIR sports hall in Karczew was filled with the excitement of the football tournament. Four teams participated in the two-hour competition. Ukraine took first place, Poland second, and Nepal won the third-place semifinal match. After the awards ceremony, players and fans enjoyed a shared lunch in the world cuisine zone. Each country prepared its own delicacies. SuperDrob employees could sample Ukrainian borscht and delicious Russian dumplings and cutlets, Nepalese samosa dumplings and mango lassi, Moldovan "gołąbki" (cabbage rolls) wrapped in grape leaves, and a regional Moldovan cake. There was also a sampling of Thai cuisine – chicken and coconut milk soup and tapioca dessert. Guests could also sample grilled Polish poultry products and SuperDrob's blood sausage. For a healthy dessert, participants could enjoy fresh fruit from orchards in Czersk and Sobienie Jeziora. The guests also presented ethnic costumes and dances that aroused considerable interest.
SuperFestiwal is a response to the need to integrate international employees employed at SuperDrob.
The poultry processing plant in Karczew in particular, but not only there, is strongly supported by international employees. For over 10 years, with the help of partner companies, the company has been employing Ukrainians, Nepalese, Moldovans, and Belarusians.
– Such initiatives allow people coming from far away to feel much better and, in fact, integrate better into society – said Ariel Sobczak, president of the SOLANO recruitment agency.
Randa Ombach, CSR manager at SuperDrob, also emphasizes the need to build an offer that strengthens relations between employees and the local community.
"We saw many examples of fascination with different cultures and a natural rapprochement between the customs of different countries. The hosts visited their national stands and eagerly established new contacts, exchanging expressions of interest and sympathy.".
Immediately after the feast concluded, the colorful dancing began. The local community watched the spontaneous dance routines with great interest. There was no shortage of applause and group photos.
Jan Grzegrzółka, director of the plant in Karczew, mentioned the role of staff integration.
"Our employees are committed to their daily work. They quickly adapt to the plant's requirements and our practices. The company strives to assist them with all matters related to migration, new employment, and finding their place in this picturesque town near Warsaw." He adds: "We have specially adapted our production system and shift schedule for this event. Thanks to this, we brought together over 300 employees, their families, and friends.".
SuperDrob SA is a renowned producer of poultry and ready-made meals sold in Poland and exported to the EU and Asian countries. It operates four plants in Poland and employs over 2,500 people, generating over PLN 1 billion annually. Its main facilities are located in Karczew near Warsaw, Łódź, and Lublin.
