A sunny Sunday, temperatures hovering around 20 degrees Celsius, and the CKiS hall in Karczew was bursting at the seams. Yesterday's 9th SuperFestival of Cultures was a complete success! We filled the space with energy, laughter, and fun, creating a unique day of bonding. People coming to Poland from faraway places often long for loved ones and the everyday lives of their homeland. We create SuperFestival to bring them back, even if only for a moment, to the familiar sounds, aromas, and atmosphere of family home, while also providing an opportunity to strengthen the bonds within our diverse team.
The sporting portion of the event was a thrilling experience. After the earlier qualifying rounds, employee teams from Poland, Ukraine, Colombia, and Moldova competed. The official opening ceremony and the singing of the national anthems reminded us anew of what a vibrant and diverse team we are. No one gave up on the pitch – the matches were full of fast-paced action, fierce battles for the ball, and beautiful goals. The tournament culminated in a thrilling final match between the Colombian and Ukrainian teams. After a fierce and emotionally charged match, Ukraine sealed the victory! But what mattered most was beyond the score itself: the mutual respect, high-fives, and hugs after the matches. The finals concluded with the presentation of trophies, medals, and commemorative gifts to the players. Between the matches, there were, of course, dance performances put on by the representatives of Nepal and Colombia.
After the fierce matches, the entire outdoor food court was bustling with activity. The beautiful September weather created the perfect setting for an outdoor celebration. A veritable feast of flavors awaited attendees at the outdoor stands. The aromas of succulent grilled dishes mingled with traditional dishes. Indonesian, Kyrgyz, Colombian, Moldovan, Nepalese, Ukrainian, and Filipino cuisines vanished at lightning speed. The outdoor tables became the scene for countless conversations, smiles, and group photos in traditional costumes. It was there that the power of food and kindness to bring people together, regardless of language, was most evident.
Each successive edition of the Super Festival of Cultures reinforces our belief in the importance of initiatives that provide space for togetherness outside of professional responsibilities. We thank everyone who contributed to the organization of this day – the volunteers, the technical crew, the people maintaining the outdoor culinary area, and the hosts from CKiS Karczew.
