In Makululu, the Uskrzydlamy Foundation is supporting the next stage of the project. A solar-powered cold storage facility has been built on a local farm for food storage.
The building is connected to the slaughterhouse, butcher's shop, and dry goods warehouse. This solution is especially helpful during the rainy season – meat products are transferred to the freezers under the roof of the external corridor.
The portion of the project financed by the Foundation is marked in light green. A plaque was also installed on the building, announcing that the project was implemented thanks to the support of the Uskrzydlamy Foundation, LipCo Foods, and the Samarytanka Foundation.
The new cold storage facility addresses specific food storage challenges. Until now, space constraints limited the ability to process fish and meat simultaneously. Fish had to be gradually removed because there was no space to store them, preventing pond restocking. Meanwhile, the fish taking up freezers meant a shortage of space for meat.
The new facilities allow for better organization of farm operations and the development of local food production, including meat products. The project is part of the ongoing activities in Makululu, which support street children and the poorest children attending school there.
