There are places that change everything. There are people whose encounters leave a lasting impression. And there are moments that transform the everyday into something much more profound. It is precisely this story that intertwines the fates of three spaces: Hospice named after Blessed Father Michał Sopoćko in Vilnius, Exit Theatre – an artistic community that brings hope and We Inspire Social Development Foundation, who joined this mission, supporting it with deep conviction.
Where everyday life ends and presence begins
In the center of Vilnius, behind the walls of a modest building, lies a unique place – the Blessed Father Michał Sopoćko Hospice. It was founded on the Hill of Hope, where the message "Jesus, I trust in You" was born. The hospice was founded by Sister Michaela Rak – a Polish nun for whom nothing is impossible. From the beginning, the hospice was more than a medical facility. It is a space where life retains meaning, even in the face of transience. It is here that children, adults, and those who suffered in the war in Ukraine experience not only care, but also a real presence – one that does not judge, does not run away, does not remain silent. The most important languages here are dignity, care, and presence. This is a place where true miracles happen.

Hospice of Hope – Sister Michaela's Mission
Since 2012, the hospice has become a home for those approaching the end of life – regardless of age, background or history. Thanks to Sister Michaela's unwavering faith and determination, the first children's ward in Lithuania was established in 2020 – „"Bridge to Heaven"”. It was a groundbreaking event that opened the door to professional, comprehensive care for the youngest patients. Currently, it is the only place in the country where children and adults in the terminal stages of the disease can count on full care, love and understanding.

Visiting the source of goodness
In 2024, the Uskrzydlamy Social Development Foundation visited the hospice in Vilnius. This trip was no ordinary business trip. It was full of emotion, movement, and extraordinary encounters with others. The Foundation had the opportunity to experience firsthand the mission of this place and the extraordinary person of Sister Michaela Rak. This experience left a lasting mark on the hearts of the band – it became a source of reflection, inspiration and, at the same time, spiritual strengthening. It also changes the way we look at many things.
Exit Theatre – art with soul
It works in the same spirit Exit Theatre – a unique theatre group whose strength lies in people with disabilities. For them, the stage is a space of freedom, expression, and mission. Their performances are contemplative—carrying truth, emotion, and a spiritual message.
This year (2025), the Exit Theatre went on tour around Poland. As ambassadors of the hospice in Vilnius, they dedicated their performances to supporting this place. On April 3, they visited the Strumień School in Józefów. They presented the Mystery of the Stations of the Cross "Homeless Jesus". The audience was moved, captivated, and captivated, becoming part of something more than just a spectacle. The Uskrzydlamy Foundation, naturally present that day, saw the event as a continuation of its Vilnius journey—as if an important milestone had been reached.

From Vilnius to Józefów – a road full of meaning
For the Foundation team, attending the Exit Theatre performance was an extremely moving experience – full of authenticity and emotion. This event became a symbolic complement to the earlier visit to the hospice. Through its moving performance, the theatre allowed us to relive the meetings, conversations and emotions.
This demonstrates that even if actions take different forms, undertaken by different entities, they can complement and inspire one another. The common value here is sensitivity – the ability to be with another person in what is difficult, yet also beautiful.

A work that grows from love
After such meetings, such journeys, and such performances, something more than collaboration is born—a relationship is forged. The Uskrzydlamy Foundation wholeheartedly supports the work of Sister Michaela and the Exit Theatre. Thanks to such people, real action and help are possible. People with disabilities who co-create the Exit Theatre feel that their voices matter. Hospice patients experience genuine care and presence. And those who become part of these stories often emerge transformed.
Every action that stems from caring for another person leaves a mark and creates a space of hope. These actions aren't just about material assistance. They're about meaning, community, and simply being present.
