On November 28, the 6th edition of the Legia Foundation's charity event "Everyone to the Oars" took place.
This year, the funds raised went to the Empowering Children Foundation and will be used to support the 116 111 helpline for children and young people. This helpline has been operating for 15 years, and serves 4,500 children in crisis each month. Every day, according to the Foundation, an average of 18 young people call the helpline regarding suicidal thoughts or specific plans to end their lives.
We had the immense pleasure of rowing (on ergometers in the Premium Zone of the Legia Stadium) for this noble cause. Our Foundation was represented by four teams, each composed of four rowers with big hearts. We rowed for 11 minutes, the average time it takes to call a child on the 116 111 helpline. The entry fee for each team was 300 PLN, which covers the cost of six phone calls.
We are honored to have been able to participate in this event. A total of 660 people from 165 crews rowed at the Legia Warsaw facility, including athletes such as the capital club's footballers, coaching staff, basketball players, rowers, as well as actors and journalists.
We encourage everyone to participate in the Legia Foundation's "All to the Oars" campaign next year! See you there!
